Dr. Mehrdad Jamei- BDS.DDS.DMD

 

 

Dr. Jamei graduated from the University of British Columbia and has over 20 years’ experience in the field of dentistry. He has worked in North Surrey, the Tri-Cities and Chilliwack. Dr. Jamei is the owner and principal dentist at the Sunshine Coast Dental Group. He enjoys all aspects of dentistry with extensive experience in implant dentistry, oral surgery, crowns & bridges, smile design, cosmetic dentistry and comprehensive treatment planning. He has attended continuing education courses, such as Maxicourse Implant training and various study clubs to stay current with the best practices in implants and aesthetic dentistry. Dr. Jamei’s practice philosophy is taking care of patients and educating them in order to provide the best treatment possible. He enjoys spending time with his family, skiing, volleyball and soccer and he has a black belt in karate.

Dr. Asef Karim-Certified Specialist in Orthodontics 

 

 

Dr. Karim was born in Hong Kong and his family moved to Vancouver when he was young.  Raised and educated in Vancouver, Dr. Karim has been practicing dentistry in the lower mainland for over 18 years. He completed his dental degree (DMD) at UBC in 1999 and his orthodontic specialty training (MSc) at UBC in 2013. Dr. Karim is well versed and up to date in all areas of orthodontics and has interests in interceptive orthodontic treatments for young children, clear aligner therapy like Invisalign, traditional or clear braces and surgical orthodontics for young and adult patients. He has completed his specialty fellowship with the Royal College of Dentists of Canada.  In the pursuit of orthodontic excellence and patient care, Dr. Karim is also certified as a Diplomate of the American Board of Orthodontics (ABO).  To further elevate his standard of orthodontic care, Dr. Karim is an Affiliate member of the Edward H. Angle Society–an internationally recognized, invitation-only orthodontics study club. As a part-time instructor at the Graduate Orthodontics Program at UBC, Dr. Karim enjoys teaching and working with graduate students.  He is also active in organized dentistry; most recently (2016), Dr. Karim was the President of the Dental Specialist’s Society of BC-an organization that represents all specialists in the Province.  In addition to orthodontics, Dr. Karim has an interest in public health and has completed a Master’s Degree in International Public Health from Boston University (2008). Apart from practicing on the Sunshine Coast, Dr. Karim maintains private orthodontic practice in Richmond, BC, where he joined and took over the practice of his esteemed colleague Dr. Robin Jackson and in Pitt Meadows. When not in the clinic, Dr. Karim enjoys sculling, biking, and spending time with his wife and three children. As a board-certified orthodontist, Dr. Karim provides orthodontic care for children, teens, and adults in a personable and gentle manner.  And he is very excited to be here on the Coast!

Dr. Endre Sinkovics, BSc, DMD 

 

 

Dr. Endre Sinkovics, or Dr. Dre for short, graduated from the University of British Columbia. He is originally from Budapest, Hungary. Dr. Dre is excited to embark on his career and eager to make a difference in people’s lives. He would often hear that patients appreciate his kind and caring approach to dental care. He believes in finding the root cause of a problem and educating the patients while also providing gentle treatment for their concerns. 
Before moving to Canada, Dr. Dre went to dental school in Hungary, which established a solid basis for his knowledge of diseases. To further his understanding in the workings of the human body and sciences in general, Dr. Dre completed an Honours degree in Molecular Biology and Biochemistry with a Minor in Biomedical Physiology and Kinesiology at Simon Fraser University. During dental school at UBC, he was selected to participate in an implant elective course, which established his early interest in this field of dentistry.
Outside his work life, other passions include sports and music. From the gentle art of Jiu Jitsu to Yoga to soccer, Dr. Dre is interested in any way he can challenge himself.
He loves spending time with his soon-to-be wife, be it staying in and cooking together, playing music or going on adventures in nature.

Dr. Rahimkhani Kamran, BSc, DMD 

 

 

Dr. Kamran Rahimkhani started his career as a dental surgeon in 1996 upon completing the Doctor of Dental Surgery program at Shahid Beheshti University. He then obtained a Masters of Science Degree in Endodontics and became a highly respected endodontic specialist. As the associate professor in endodontics, Dr. Rahimkhani taught dentistry–and more specifically, endodontics–at the University of Tabriz for over three years.
In 2009, Dr. Rahimkhani relocated to Canada and received the Doctor of Dental Medicine designation at the University of British Columbia. He has been practicing dentistry since then throughout the Lower Mainland. Dr. Rahimkhani is currently in charge of the endodontic treatments at our clinic and he also sees patients that are referred to him from other dental offices on the Sunshine Coast who need Root Canals to save them a trip to Vancouver. 
Dr. Kamran enjoys treating all of his patients that require endodontic care, he is very quick and efficient and has a quiet and gentle approach. 

Dr. Denise Chiasson, BSc, DMD 

 

 

Dr. Denise Chiasson retired from dentistry in 2020. It has been our pleasure and privilege to have Dr. Chiasson work at our dental office for over 10 years. Her hard work, commitment and dedication to her patients are worthy of admiration. She has been an integral part of our practice and she will be greatly missed.
